Our Arabic bakery combines the best of family tradition and innovation. Inspired by our father and grandfather, we bake with the same passion and without any artificial leavening agents. We give the dough the time it needs to mature to perfection. Using high-quality, 100% Austrian ingredients, we create baked goods that impress with their natural quality and genuine craftsmanship. Traditional baking methods and the desire for perfection make us the first address for Arabic pita bread made in Austria - a pleasure that comes from a love of baking.
The traditional bakery "Tofaha" ("Apple") from the regions of Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon is locally known for its quality and reliability. We proudly continue these culturally connecting values in our business and invite you to experience them for yourself.
A soft, airy flatbread made from wheat flour, baked in the Tunnur oven.
Pita is available as a light bread with wheat flour or in the wholemeal version.
Ideal for all meals, goes perfectly with grilled meat and dips.
Pita is popular as a sandwich for falafel, cheese and other fillings.
We bake fresh pita bread and samuli every day, either for collection at our location on Favoritenstraße or conveniently delivered to you. Our range includes pita bread made from wheat or whole grain, Burger Samuli with and without sesame, the sesame-free school Samuli and the Baget Samuli.
With our fully automated production line, we combine traditional Arabic baking skills with modern technology. We deliver our pita to businesses, retailers, restaurants and private households (minimum order quantity 100 pieces) within Vienna, throughout Austria and to neighboring countries.
Authentic taste and culture
In Favoriten, Fadi Saleh and his team bake up to 9,000 pieces of traditional pita bread every day with passion. He came to Austria as a refugee from Damascus about ten years ago. Today he runs the Apfel bakery, one of only two Arab bakeries in Austria, which is now widely known for its quality and originality. The special machines, which are not available in Europe, make the bakery something special and bring a piece of Arab tradition and culture to Vienna. For Fadi, pita bread is not just a product, but a connection to his homeland, to memories and to history, where pita and samuli are indispensable staples at every meal.
